Security and privacy
Is it safe?
Yes. Arkivy runs inside your browser: your chats, photos and key are processed on your PC and never pass through our servers. Our server only delivers the web page, like any website.
Do I need to install anything?
No. You just use Chrome or Edge on your PC. The only thing you turn on is USB debugging on your phone, so your PC can read the backup over the cable.
Does it work with iPhone?
Not yet. Arkivy works with Android phones (WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business). We're looking into iPhone support for the future.
What is the 64-digit key?
It's the key to WhatsApp's encrypted backup. WhatsApp generates it when you turn on end-to-end encrypted backup. Arkivy needs it to open your backup on your PC, and it never stores or sends it. See how to turn it on.
Can you read my conversations?
No. None of your chats ever reach us. In the Business plan, and only if you approve it, the text of the chats you choose is sent for AI analysis.
Using it
What if I get a new phone?
Your chats stay saved on your PC for good, even if you switch, lose or reset your phone. To transfer WhatsApp to a new phone, use WhatsApp's official transfer; with Arkivy you'll also have your own copy in case something goes wrong. Guide to switching phones.
Does Arkivy restore chats onto my phone?
No. Arkivy is your personal archive on your PC: it saves and displays your chats. To restore them into WhatsApp on another phone, you use WhatsApp's official backup.
How long does it take?
The text of all your chats is usually ready in one or two minutes. Photos and videos depend on how many you have: they copy in the background and you can browse your chats in the meantime.
Do I need to delete anything from my phone?
No. Arkivy only reads: it doesn't delete or change anything on your phone or in WhatsApp.
Can I save only some chats, or only the photos?
Yes. You can pick contacts, groups or both, and which types of files to copy: photos, videos, voice notes or documents.
Can I use it as legal evidence?
Arkivy keeps the full chat with dates, times and original files, which helps a lot. But it doesn't replace a notarized record or a forensic expert's report. Read our guide.

How much does it cost?
1 chat is free, just with your email. To save all your chats with their photos, videos and voice notes, Arkivy Personal is US$29 a year. Arkivy Business is US$79 a year per WhatsApp number, with 5,000 AI credits included. Card only, in US dollars. See pricing.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, 7 days. If you can't save your chats, we'll refund your money.
Is Arkivy made by WhatsApp?
No. Arkivy is an independent product. Not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta. WhatsApp is a trademark of WhatsApp LLC.
Can I try it for free?
Yes. You get 1 free chat, just with your email and no card. It saves the text messages of the chat you choose. If you like it, upgrade to Personal to save all your chats with their photos, videos and voice notes.
Can I use it on another computer?
Yes. Your licence is tied to your account (your email): sign in from any PC with Chrome or Edge.
Why a yearly plan if I only use it once?
Make a new backup whenever you like, for example every 3 months, and we'll email you when you have new chats that aren't saved yet. And whatever you've already saved is yours forever, even if you don't renew.
Can I use the free plan again with another email?
No. The free chat is tied to your WhatsApp account (your number), not to your email: there's one per number.
